A Small Typology of CryingTwo Waters
- IDead water
- IILiving water
This work is part of a larger personal study of tears and crying.
It consists of two contrasting sculptures and tells two stories that are typologically very similar, but completely different in their emotional substance. Both begin with the imminent departure of someone important to me and with tears.
But:
The first tears were like a dead water — pulling you into darkness.
The second tears were like living water — bringing back light and breath.
There are no poems about the first kind of tears, only wire and thorns.
The second kind of tears gave birth to poetry in me:
My lips became more beautiful because your kisses.
My body became more loved because your embraces.
I became bigger and calmer than a mountain,
more talkative than a mountain stream,
softer than a marshmallow and lighter than the wind.
Under your gaze, roses and peonies bloomed inside me.
